Knightley has warned children who dream of the celebrity life that it’s not all what it seems to be. “It frightens me when kids go, ‘I want to be famous.’” In a 2007 interview with the BBC Knightley said that she feels “de-humanised.” She also said that when a person becomes a celebrity, the public doesn’t care that the person’s life is constantly watched.

While she has no current plans to leave the world of film, Knightley has said that she could not imagine subjecting a child to the media. She is quoted as saying, “I’m not planning to have children at the moment… everyone changes, and I’m sure there will be a time I will want to do something different. I could completely see myself moving away from acting.”

She has expressed concern in the past about unwarranted attention from stalkers, and a 41 year-old man was charged with harassment in February 2010 after trying to contact the actress on several occasions outside the Comedy Theatre in London, where she appeared in the play The Misanthrope. The subsequent trial folded after the actress was unavailable to testify in court.

Knightley is the face of an Amnesty International campaign to support human rights, marking the 60th anniversary of the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As part of the campaign, the star also made a short film. Knightley stated she wanted help raise awareness of the UDHR and human rights abuses. She said “The UDHR is something that everyone should be aware of and be proud of as a statement of our common humanity.”

Knightley contributed her voice to a 2007 Robbie the Reindeer animation, all profits of which will be donated to Comic Relief. In 2004, she travelled to Ethiopia with a group that included Richard Curtis, who had directed her in Love, Actually, on behalf of that charity.

In April 2009, Knightley appeared in a video to raise awareness of domestic abuse entitled Cut. The video was directed by Joe Wright, who directed Knightley in Pride and Prejudice and Atonement, and shot for “Women’s Aid”, a U.K. based women and children aid group. The video has created controversy, with some sources calling it too graphic, while other groups support the video for showing a realistic depiction of domestic violence.

Knightley, who lives in London, is involved with her Pride & Prejudice co-star Rupert Friend. Knightley has stated she has no plans to be married in the near future.

Knightley has denied rumours she is anorexic, although she did say—after her appearance at the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest premiere led to media speculation that her extremely slender figure was due to an eating disorder—that her family has a history of anorexia. Knightley sued the Daily Mail after they claimed she lied about having anorexia; the article said that a teenage girl died from anorexia, indicating that Knightley’s physical appearance may have influenced her in some way. She was awarded a settlement.

In July 2006, Knightley said she has become a workaholic, detailing that “the last five years have blended into one. I can’t tell you what was last year and what was the year before” and specifying that she was “working too much” and was “quite frightened that if I continue at this rate I will start to hate what I love,” even suggesting that she would take a one-year break from acting to travel and focus on her personal life.

Musicians possess the abilities that pertain to hearing which are known as aural skills. The properties of music like pitch, concordance and the characteristics imparted by different chords should be heard and accessed accurately by the musicians.

There are a number of ways to manifest the usefulness of good ear training skills. Musicians who are good listeners can play music by ear and can easily transcribe it. If singers have good ear training skills they can sight-sing effectively. Aural skills of violinists’ help them to play accurately and adapt to different musical environments. To exclusively adjust and play in any musical setting with confidence and competence a musician needs aural skills which also make a lot of deviation in terms of composition ability and improvisation.

There are many exercises by which you can improve your hearing skills in music. You will come across some good results if you target any one area of ear training skills put in the necessary time to achieve it. Regardless of whether you thought yourself a vocalist or not working on singing accurate pitches will surely help you to improve your ears. Sometime can be taken to improve over the recorded harmonic structure or a loop so that sense of the interaction could be developed.

By practicing transcribing music, your ear training skills will be tested. You should seriously consider a pitch training program if you want your music hearing skills to be improved. So with this in mind, it’s not a matter of if our children should be doing music at young ages, it’s a matter of finding something appropriate for your child.

I’ve heard the earlier you start music, the more chance they have in becoming “talented”. Is it too early to start established music classes with my preschooler?

The minute your baby is born, he is interacting and learning in his New World. In the early weeks of a child’s life there is nothing more pleasurable to a baby than the sound of her mother’s or father’s voice.

In our society, there seems to be so many demands placed on parents for educating their children early and giving our children a “good start in life “. It is often thought that the earlier we can start, the more chance we have of developing a “Musical Prodigy” or a child with “Musical Talent”.

While it may be a good idea to get started with music early in life, it certainly isn’t necessary to take it to extremes. It is most important that children have positive experiences if they are going to go on with any activity in life. It will not give your child an additional advantage in music if you decide to join a music group or class and he cries the entire time every single week. You won’t enjoy it, your child won’t enjoy it and your teacher most definitely won’t enjoy it!

When you start your baby or preschool child will just enjoy spending time with you and hearing you sing. Don’t worry about how you sound – just sing a few nursery songs and rhymes and sing along with CD’s! As you sing make sure you are adding lots of expression in your voice and face. Your child may not understand what you are singing at in the early days, but he will see that you are having fun and are including him in it. How many times have you heard from a friend that their child just loves an old 70’s or 80’s song? That is because the parents love it!

As your child becomes more active and you feel that extra stimulation is needed, find a music education group and take into account a few crucial factors at this stage in your child’s development.

Children need to learn how to learn.

Being part of a class of any age is a learned experience. You might find that your child takes some time to adapt to the routine and know what to do in the classroom situation. You may wish to use the class as a way of meeting other parents with similarly aged children and as a different form of exposure for your child. Check to see if the children and parents currently enrolled are happy and that your teacher is well educated and experienced in working with preschoolers specific to your child’s age. As children will still get the most stimulation from you as the parent, make sure you do the session with your child and don’t just leave them there.

Your teacher does know the students best, and they will know what class is best for you. Trust their guidance with that, and they’ll change your class if appropriate.
You should make it a priority to get the child into the most suitable class for them, not just the class which is at the most suitable time for you! If you choose a reputable music school or group, your teacher will know most of the children in the school and will give you a great recommendation. Trust this and make sure you can get to that class.
Don’t expect your child to be playing an instrument straight away.

Even if you’ve made the decision to start music with your preschooler don’t expect that you’ll be playing the piano, guitar or drums straight away or even inside years. To play an instrument children need to gain quite good fine and gross motor skills. In most preschool music classes the emphasis is on having fun with music, and building foundation skills in pitch and rhythm awareness. Music at this young age will build an excellent foundation so that afterwards in life when they do play instruments it will be much easier to pick up.

Research is showing regular exposure to certain types of classical music helps develop a child’s mental capacity because of the structure and form behind it. However what is really needed is active participation in music at any stage, particularly young ages.

In the preschool years just concentrate on giving your child a positive start in music in a group environment. Learning an instrument can wait until they are a little bit older.
 

It is often considered that to create music we must know how it should sound or should have an idea of what we want to play. We should know the format that we are going to follow in our music. There is a kind of music that is without any goals that is made for self and come directly to us. We don’t make it for a purpose. It is generally known as aimless/ directionless music. It is like a feeling that comes to us.

People describe this music as a self indulgent music. We like a music that touches our heart and give us an emotional experience. We can explain this by taking an example of most popular Japanese music –“Shakahauchi” Shakahauchi is the name of a flute. It is very famous for its music in east.

Whenever it is played, the music comes out is always refreshing and unique. The best part of this music is that it is free to flux and flow and is boundless and has no limitations. Such kind of music is the music normally doesn’t have repetition of notes. They are just made when a composer enjoys his music.

When we listen to this sort of music we can experience the feelings of the musician and feel connected to the music that he plays.   It is actually the reflection of composer’s state of mind. It is pretty similar to like expressing ourselves with the help of music.

It can be explored again and again and remain fresh and new always. It doesn’t mean that I am against the musical form.

The feelings can only be expressed when we have good knowledge of music and know how to express it. The music with particular aim has there own ways to play it. It has its own fun and enjoyment added to it. It is just that other music theory forms are as enjoyable and fun as the different forms.
